Tuner Friendly Dealers?!?!
it is ultimately the service manager's decision to void warranty or allow mods to be covered. Despite what we've been told, many mods and or parts can void warranty. Although, the law does state that whatever failure occured must have resulted or been related to having that part or mod installed, a legal nightmare may arise.
Myself and several others think we should instead, find groups of 'tuner friendly dealers' in differents parts of the country. Also we should push mitsu corporate to get a partnership with a tuning company in similar way as in BMW's relationship with Dinan. Ralliart is dealing with issues with the domestic market. So, let's talk to service mangaers and flood mitsu hq so anyone can join the 300club and still have factory and tuner warranty!!
btw- BMW really stands 4 Bob Marley &the Wailers

I know my warranty almos got voided at Thousand Oaks Mitsu, due to my "excessive tire wear".
But after a many confused looks by me, they just wrote down "driver has aggressive driving style, excessive tire wear - advised driver".
Seriously gay. Last time I check I bought an Evo, not a Camry.

That's bogus.
Do you know of any independent service shops in the T.O. area that will work on EVO's? Or any shops in SoCal for that matter? I need to find one because I hate dealers in general. Lousy work, overcharge. Pretty much makes the warranty useless. I'd rather pay and have the work done right. thx.

Why do people let the dealer push them around and pull bs over on them like that? Seriously, are you guys that shy or just naive? If they tried to pull that crap with me I’d tell them to go **** themselves and take my car elsewhere.

I simply said I do not acknowledge that, and said I would be speaking to the General Manager.
I wasn't about to admit to anything that they claimed I did.
They accused me of drag strip launches, etc. But if they were intelligent and looked a little closer, they would see that the only tread loss was on the outer edge of the front tires, which would only indicate hard cornering.
I haven't launched this car once to be honest. After the 100+ horror stories I decided I'd hold off the drag strip until I can afford a decent clutch.

In fact I don't even know where the closest AWD dyno is.

I too am having trouble finding a place in the San Fernando Valley to take my baby to. I really don't trust dealers either, and if I do have to go to one, they will be surprised that a chick knows what she is talking about when it comes to her EVO.
Tofurkey - have you looked into Brainstorm for Dyno? They are in West LA and there is a meet there on 1/24 with socalevo.net. If you go to their site, you can get more info.

pays for a warranty repair. A more likely scenario is for you to befriend an individual service writer/manager at the dealer, and always take your car(s) to that individual. Basically you don't want them to view you as "just another customer".

That is just horrible if they accused you of drag strip launches and you've never launched the car at all. Doesn't mitsu realize they are loosing customers because of crap like this? On another note, does anyone else remember that little "fake contract" thing that said "I promise not to travel uphill while going 0-60 in 5.1 seconds as this was not intended to be the first flying car" or something like that? It just boggles the mind how a company can market a car like they did, then try to void warranties left and right over NOTHING
