test pipe on stock exhaust?

Hey guys, quick question, i was just wondering if anyone is running a stock evo 8/9 exaust with a TP, i recently ordered Megan Racing 3" SS Race Test Pipe and im going to install it on my stocker exhaust, ive never really seen any videos on it or anybody talking about doing it. Is there a reason why? am i doing something i shouldnt be? i dunno, its a very untouched topic so i just wanted to see if anyone is running this or why most people don't. Thankyou!

I used to have a 3" downpipe and testpipe on my stock exhaust and I liked it. If you're looking for a little power, it'll work but it's not the best setup.

I used to run a test pipe on stock exhaust for 4 years before buying a tbe. It was a 2.5in pipe, I still have it tucked away in my closet if you would rather have one with matching flanges. It was not much louder than stock but was a lot smelly-er

I ran a 3in DP and TP on my car with the stock cat back for about 4-6 months. I had removed the muffler one day just to see how it would sound, then added the DP and TP and I actually got people telling me it sounded good lol it picked up some power but like I said, I had removed the muffler.

That's a good idea... Lol did you just cut the muffler out and weld piping to replace? That easy?

I got full stock exhaust with a test pipe. As previously mentioned, it smells...a lot haha. It's pretty bad until the car warms up, and when you give it a lot of throttle you'll smell it pretty strong too. Plus you gotta put the cat on again for inspection If you have emissions...not killer loud, sounds ok I guess. Cheap and easy enough to uninstall that its not a big deal if you don't like it.

Kind of a PITA the whole thing..idk, my 2¢...

i wouldn't think there would be that much of a power increase, if anything it would give it a different sound is all.

+1...You have 12in of open flow in the middle of the system. Kind of seems like a waste of money
