Just change the pump. Nothing you do is going to prevent a little spillage, except for running the car until it cuts off from being out of fuel.

Have some rags handy, a container to put the assembly in, and do work. Everything will be okay.

I put my pump in on an almost full tank of gas, it was not that big of a deal. Not much spills if you are careful and let the old pump drain over the hole.

I do not want to start my car and run it out of gas or drive it out of gas
you can install the pump with a full tank it will just make a mess, when you take it out. gas will go everywhere on the ground you will loose about 1/4 tank if it is full too the top.

Best thing to do is unplug the pump run the car until the lines are empty. after that you only drain the pump into the tank. I lost less than a cup a fuel and my tank was basically full.

I would recommend a different tuner, he basically stole my money because he refused to finish a tune after about a week working with him
There are many many better tuners than the junk he will send you.

You must not know many people that used him. Every single local person to me has had the same crap experience I had. That could very well be the reason he has completely disappeared from the forums. Here are some people that agree

I appreciate it. I guess my question is now if I choose to go with a diffferent tuner, who would be a respectable one? Also will I need anything different than EVOscan and the Tephra V7 tuning packages to tune? Thats what he had me use, I just dont know if those programs are gonna work with other tuners?
Thanx

The other night I put in my Walbro and all i have to say is that I forgot that I TOPPED OFF MY TANK. Which means there was gas in the tube leading up to the filler port. Which means that when you pull the fuel pump all of that gas pushes out the top of your F*cking gas tank which then spills onto your garage floor. ALOT OF IT.

In the end I think just a full tank would be ok but not one that is topped off.
Lesson learned. Also don't let drunk *******s play beerpong in your garage next to your stored evo other wise you will end up with mysterious ding in your hood, in which no body can explain

Peace

You won't need anything else for tuning, just about everyone uses V7.
