Ureathane or metal shift base bushings?

Experiences? Opinions? Which feels better? How much vibration do the metal ones transmit? I'm pretty much looking at Buschur vs. works

My stock rubber bushings were crap, it would slip off when I shifted. I have AMS aluminun shift bushings now and I love them. Nice solid firm shifts, I would probably have better luck with a steel braided clutch cable as well which is a future mod, but I would say if your gonna race your evo, go with metal. If your just looking for a little fun around the roads and a little rough driving here and there go with polyurethane. My personal opinion is go with the best, and you'll never have to worry about it

I am leaning towards metal. I already have metal underhood bushings and like them. Do the metal base bushings lock you out of gears sometimes?

Get metal ones, I don't know why you'd be worried about vibrations though flexible shift cables and a base that doesn't flex when not shifting.

I have the Speed Source (metal) underhood bushings and Works short shifter with the Works bushings. I have no rattle whatsoever. Great little mod to make the car that much more fun to drive.

Go with the aluminum and don't look back. Buschurs and Torque Solutions both work great.

I have AMS racing bushings under the hood, and I have a Ralco RZ counterweighted short shifter that came with Aluminum bushings for my shifter (you can find the kit for about $56 from http://www.stikiller.com/product.php?productid=16771 ). That shifter is for a 5 Speed, if you need a 6 speed shifter you may be able to use this one but you'll need an extra bushing. Otherwise go here (http://www.lancershop.com/customer/home.php?cat=114 and check out everything you may need) I don't get lock out at all from the bushings, only thing I get lock out from is my damn ACT clutch that I will be replacing with a procom 5-puck sprung disc for my abusive driving lol.

I get small vibrations through the shifter but I like it that way because I can tell whats going on with my car better through those vibrations and in turn I can drive the car more efficiently. The vibrations aren't enough to be a nuisance but are just right. I get solid shifts every time and haven't had a problem since they've been put on. But like I said before I need to change to a braided clutch line so my shifts are more powerful. Hope this helps you in your decision. Metal is the best way to go though, Polyurethane will eventually wear down over time (it will probably not happen in the time you have the car) but Aluminum will always hold its shape, always have that nice snap to it, and its just more solid.

Since you have the generation as I do I'd recommend definitely going with the Ralco RZ shifter. Its cheapest price around and it has never ever let me down through all of the hard driving that I've done.

So I went with the metal Buschur bushings and love them. Everything is positive about them. I get no vibration, it's easier to shift into 1st and 2nd, and I get the clicky feel when I shift, which I personally like.
