Anyway to get better than 15mpg (Solved & thanks)
I have only been able to find a couple of threads lately about gas milage on for the IXs. Ever since I picked up my 06 IX MR. I have been getting about 14-15mpg that is about 50/50 high way city but it doesn't change much at all with all city or all highway. This hasn't really changed from it being all stock at first to now with very light mods. Back when I had my 03 VIII that running a little over 350hp I was getting 21 highway and just a bit less city.
Are all the IXs getting this kinda mileage or is it just mine and can you suggest anything to increase my economy.
Just lost my job so I need to save where I can, exceptionally if it shouldn't be this way, thanks for any help and im sorry if this has been asked a bunch already, I just couldn't find it and could use a point in the right direction, thanks

No that is not normal. You can try things like over-inflating your tires a few pounds. Take out any unnecessary weight (ie. junk in the trunk). Accelerate slower, smoother, and stay out of boost as much as possible. You can also get tuned for a little more economy. Good luck
Unless your on E85 it iounds to me like you definitely have a boost and/or exhaust leak(s). It could also be an issue in your tune but I would definitely start with checking for leaks. Do you have a wideband?

well at least I know I can fix it and Im not stuck this way. The poor milage has been this way both with the stock exhaust and with my full 3" stainless. It was also this way before it had any tune on stock boost. The guy the car came from was one of those 30+ year olds that thinks he is 16 that thought he could be cool because he had a turbo.
I do have a plx wideband in but I still have not been able to figure out how to log with it though Evoscan with the tactrix 2.0
I do need a good tune real bad, just cant afford one right now. thanks for the info guys.

I have never tuned had the car tuned, I just used the ecuflash and evo scan to turn off the sensors that I got rid of like the rear o2 and I was going to play with the tune a bit but havent been able to since I cant log o2 and I cant really afford to screw things up since I am not that good at it.
