The shell on a walbro is shiny metal, the stock pump is like a plastic green color

Yeah and it'll have a (W) walbro on it, also the code. GSSxxx. Unless it's another brand.

Is it safe to remove the fuel pump to check it out? will i have to do anything once i put it back it?

also any tips on taking it out i know you have to take off the wire harness first then start the car in till it dies then you can remove it correct?

Yep it's safe. It's pretty simple.

But I mean, most of the time if it's a walbro you can hear a whine. If it's not audible with seat still installed remove it and listen.
