Huge puddle from transfer case
I'm really getting $#%@ sick of working on this car and finding more problems as I go. Since I broke a bolt off my caliper changing the rotors, my car was sidelined for a week while I waited for the replacement caliper to come in.
Well when I got the caliper and went out to put it on, I noticed somethingunder the car:

That's a rather sizable puddle of gear oil under the transfer case...
AND, to make things even better, the second, smaller puddle near the driver's side there? That's coolant!
I was just sooooo happy to see this.
So after spending money on a timing belt, balance shaft belt, and serpentine belt to replace the ones with nearly 97K miles on them; new suspension to replace the blown struts, a new manifold to replace the cracked one, new rotors and pads, a new IAC, and now a new throttle body to replace the one that had a stripped BISS and orange crap in it... I have to deal with this!
It's obvious the previous owner much rather would rip around town than do routine maintenance, but jesus, really dude???
Should I just drive the damn thing off a cliff or just keep dumping money into it not knowing what's gonna happen next?

That sucks man, I'm with you too I've had ****ty luck the last 8 months with my '05.
Can you see/feel where it's leaking from? That's alot of fluid to be leaking from the transfer case.

I wanna really kill the last owner who had my car but there are from the Marine core no disrespect but if hes dead. I would rather see this car live then what he or she put it through im being real cause that person just kille dmy pockets on the repairs ive made on this car real talk.
I felt guilty not doing my 60K until I was at 62.
Hopefully once you're all caught up on the maintenance stuff, you're car will be happy and treat you well for many many miles to come.

Well the puddle is directly below it, and there's fluid on the flex pipe of the exhaust as well. I read another thread about how the braided stainless of the flex pipe wore a small hole in the housing of the TC. Not entirely sure if that's the case here, but it seems like a hell of a puddle for what would be a small hole.

On a side note, I've got the car at a shop so they can fininsh the suspension and rotor install. I don't want to risk breaking any more bolts off and making things worse, lol. I'll see if they can get a good look at the transfer case area and let me know what it is.

No, I didn't do the water pump. When I changed the pump on my RA after 100K it still seemed brand new. I checked it out when doing the belt though. Rotates freely, no grinding or binding. Didn't remove it though.
Ahh! And I thought my problem was bad..still I know how you feel man I've been having one thing after another breaking on me for the last few months..I just wonder when it will end I'm getting sick of throwing so much money into my evo. Seriously considering buying an alpaca instead...

I've thrown close to four grand into mine since I got it in January, and this transfer case issue will hopefully be the last one for quite a while. If I'm lucky it's an easy (and cheap) fix, but if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all, so I'm not holding my breath.
