Good news is I get the car back Wednesday evening with the suspension, rotors, and alignment finished. Then on to the trailer again to bring it back to the firehouse to get a handle on what's going on with the transfer case.

Yeah, it did kinda smell like that. It was very thick, almost like maple syrup. It looked brand new as well, which makes sense because the fluid was changed just before I got it. I checked the drain and fill bolts and I can't find any evidence of it leaking from there. I need to get a good look up by where the exhaust runs closest to the TC.

Quick progress report...
Got the coilovers and rotors put on by the shop. Picked the car up today. Got my new TB in the mail as well. The guy at the shop said that it looked like the leak was coming from one of the half shafts on the transfer case, so I'm thinking its the seal on that side. MUCH better news than having a crack or something in it. I'm wondering if the fact that I had one side jacked up for a few days if that had something to do with it, because there was no evidence of a leak prior to this.

Same problem that I had if the fluid was reddish it was from the resevior or at one of the lines. If it was green its coming from the tcase itself. I had a problem with the seal.
Mine was leaking in the same spot when I bought it. Whoever put the new axle seal in the t case didnt press it in straight on mine. Also it's definitely not t-case fluid coming from there if thats where its coming from, should be tranny fluid since it transfers over. There's a diagram somewhere on the site that shows the part number for the seal. let me look here it is second post in the thread its 30145p like 16 bucks at dealer. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...case-leak.html Mine was leaking much less though like a dime size puddle in a night....

Yeah, from the looks of it the transfer case pretty much leaked out its entire contents over the course of only a week. The fluid is greenish yellow in color, so its not trans fluid, so maybe its not from one of the side seals. I'll have to get a better look at it this weekend to get a more definitive answer...

So... I filled the TC with new fluid and went for a quick drive. Afterwards I took a look under the car and saw a constant drip of fluid, just over one drop a second, a rather significant leak to be sure. There was also fluid all down the exhaust for about two feet. I took a couple more pics to try and get a better idea of what I'm dealing with here.

I can't see too well exactly where it's coming from... Nothing around here with a lift is open on Sundays, so I'm gonna see if I can get it up on one after work tomorrow. I'm starting to believe that I've got a crack in it, I'm not sure what else could bleed a transfer case dry within a span of 10 minutes.

Well im not crazy mechanic but my best advice would be from me to you would be to get some cleaner under there and put it on a rag and wipe it off with a rag or towell or windblast it down make sure your topped off with fluids since you lose alot and put it on the lift that way you can trace it a bit better.
Clean it off and get something like this:

Baby powder works also.
Good luck
