Will EVO's drop in price?
Here in SA they are selling for almost the price they cost new.My IX cost R 390 000 when new,and i paid R386 000 second hand,at least it's got mods.We have very few here in SA,that's also why people are selling them for so much.

Evo's aren't being made "gen after gen"...that's why they're holding their price. The 8 and 9s were the last "raw" evos to ever be made. The X have become more refined cars with stringent safety regulations. IF the XI is made, it will most likely not resemble any of it's predecessors. Your statement would have been true say....10yrs ago

Because the VIII and IX are last of a drivers car once all the young kids blow them up, wreck them and otherwise right them off, clean Evo's will start to appreciate a little bit. Look at the RX-7's. They hit a bottom line of 11k and started going back up.
Hell even 92-95 civic hatchbacks have never sold for lower then 3k no matter what the mileage. As long as someone is willing to pay people will get what they want.
If you're car hopper sell your Evo right now. If you like the car....who cares

I say this is true in some senses... but I see Supras with 130k going for a pretty penny, time will tell with the evo's... but I think they will hold their value quite well for a long amount of time.
OTOH, it's not unreasonable to think that mint, low-mileage, perfectly maintained Evolutions will hold their value.
It's kind of a tough call to make right now. More and more 16 year olds are getting a 03-04 Evo in their possession. Even though I can't compare an Evos value to that of a DSM, not by a long shot but it's starting to look like it with the younger generation.
But yeah I believe say in another decade, a mint VIII or IX with very low miles will sell for a nice amount. That interested buyer will make it happen.
Speaking of Supras and their value,
My father owned a MKIV Premier TT Supra for 6 years, it was his summer DD. When he sold it, the car had 150,000 miles on it. He ended up selling it for more than he purchased it.
A '93 was much cheaper in 1999 vs 2012. Not many MKIV's were produced, and I couldn't tell you but highly doubt new drivers owned them.
So I guess we just have to enjoy them, and if we still own one 10 years from now monitor their value.

Have you seen the price of a used GTR?
Those things lose there value extremely fast. A 2 year old GTR with less than 20k miles cost around 65k.
Don't believe me? Check NAGTROC

I don't know if that's a fair expectation. There were far fewer Supras sold (not as much choice); many did not see the mechanical decline witnessed by quite a few 6-owner high-mileage Evolutions modded by teenagers at every turn. Then, we have to consider the available substitutes to what's essentially a beat to crap car waiting for boatload of money to make it livable.

Current Generation GTR's are loosing more then normal because the My2013 is a pretty big step better then the current.
After the evos are wrecked, blown up and otherwise abused. Those of us that still love the car will still be around. I think in the next 5-10 years there won't be as many Evo member actively participating.

If you love the car don't worry about the price dropping significantly. Just own one and forget it. .Don't look at this car as an investment unless your going to be slinging evos left and right
