Will EVO's drop in price?
not ideal to ask about Aus EVO prices on a US based forum. They're definitely dearer here!
its been said in this thread already; but everything costs more here. It makes buying parts easy though, as when the exchange rate is dollar-for-dollar, everything seems stupidly cheap!
what's interesting about the Supra, is the prices are really only high in the US. luckily we're freely able to bring them over from Japan.. so there's plenty for sale.
The prices would have to be less than half as much for a good TT 6spd Supra here, when you take into account what cars you could buy for the same money.
an ridiculous-but-true example of this; a nice new BASE Porsche 911 (non S) is $250,538 ($260,278 USD..!); for which you could buy more than a dozen Twin-Turbo JZA80's!
:|
not the best example, but funny nonetheless :P
with the EVO's, by the time you're ready to buy one, you'll no doubt be able to buy whichever you want. we can import EVO 5-8's easily, and they're still depreciating rapidly in Japan.
i reckon you'd be right on the money if you had your heart set on a 7.. surely they wont be much more than 10 grand or so..!

I can see the prices going down a lil bit, but it seems that they have been selling for the same amounts for a long time now. in a few years i see the prices climbing or pretty much staying the same. in 2025 would you buy a Evo IX built right cared for, with 72k miles on it for 25 Grand? I would.
Ive seen some decent Supras Mkiv sell for 20k with 180k miles on them, hell i almost got a white MkIV 93 with 210k miles on it from VA for 17 Grand last year, but it was a automatic
and i just couldnt bare it.
