Will EVO's drop in price?

Here in Australia I'm currently not allowed to drive a turbo charged car so an EVO is out of the question, but i love lancers so i bought a lancer ce

Just wondering if EVO's will drop in price much in the next 3-4 years?

Average price i can find for an 8 is roughly 22k - 28k for a 9 its 35k - 50k

I've worked out how to save enough money for a 8 in roughly 3 years so soon as i'm allowed to drive one, i'm searching for one

In NZ they're similar pricing. I would check your import laws to see about importing one.

Will they drop in price? Maybe. I bought my IX wagon a year ago and since then asking prices for IXs haven't really changed (the wagon prices have actually gone up). 3 or 4 years ago prices were higher but it's hard to say how much they will change in the coming years.

Just a side note, everything car related (except labour I've noticed) is cheaper in the states.

I would actually argue the opposite. The Evo VIII and IX platform is the only one like it in terms of power potential and function. I would say Evos will rise in price because they have the potential of a Supra, just in an AWD configuration. Keep in mind, a 530awhp Evo = an 800whp Supra.

It's Australia.... I think he has a probationary license. Not allowed to drive turbocharged cars and cars with more than 6 cyl until 25...

To OP, if I was you and I lived in Austie, I would import an Evo VI. I want one BAD but import laws in the US is really strict against cars that are not made for this market. It really shouldn't be strict for you guys over there since I see Mighty Car Mods guys import cars like it's no big deal. I would totally pick this up really quick if there wasn't such a strict law.

I dont know about that, I think it is something we will have to wait and see.. THe evos are pretty legendary it is possible that they stay up in price and become rare, and then in turn, become expensive... I have thought about this alot, so I guess we will see later on =) Hopefully I will still have my evo, dont plan on EVER selling it. My advice to you, get one as soon as you can

Hope you're right but I'm not holding my breath.

Hope you're right but I just don't see it.

EDIT: They do seem to hold their value incredibly well, at least going by dealer prices. If I could sell my car for what some of these dealers are asking I would make money after owning the car 2 years lol. I know that's not realistic but it's crazy to think about.
