The over-40 Evo thread

Are you over 40 years old? Not quite ready to trade your Evolution for a Buick? Post your car, your age (if you dare), and anything else you like. I'll start. I'm 48, lifelong car guy on my second Evo. The car is very mildly modded, almost stock:

Love the black RPF1s! I hope I still have my Evo in another 8 years and I can join the club.

I'm 54 years old with a 2006 Evo IX-MR and an 'old school' 1989 MITSUBISHI Starion ESI-R, both modded. See partial mod list in my signature below. I will never part with these cars!

Just turned 50 looking forward to my AARP card and my next mode of transport

On my 3rd Evo ('06 IX DD driver/HPDE car, '08 Evo X...didn't last long until traded in for a Cayenne for DD/Towing purposes, now a salvage '06 race car). Car guy since my first rusted out Fiat Spider

When I was driving the '06 DD Evo in my mid-40's, I felt like an old fart but still loved the car.

Now, the Evo race car fits in like any other car...the fun thing about racing is that you don't think twice about age, the guys and gals you are battling the corner for could be 17 or 77...doesn't really matter

06 DD/HPDE

08 X

Color me a member of this dubious club as well. Got my free membership card last year...

Here's a couple of pics of the last time I took 'er out to the track. White rims = street tires, black = BFG R1's

Yeah, goforwand's red X is ****. If I ever got an X, I'd try to make it look like the Concept X.

46 & a gear-head since i was a kid. started with *** airplanes & has exploded since then.

I bought the evo after the test drive. It reminded me of my old tony 125cc shifter kart with a radio, a/c + safety restraints for my kids seats!

Great looking EVOs. I am 2 years away from the membership but decided to apply early.

Have a 06 IX since 2010. very minimal mods as its my DD/kid mobile.
Mods limited to just the TBE and really resisting to tear into it

Last year, bought a 01 E39 M5 to use it as a DD and start working on the EVO. But even though the M5 was nicer in all aspect, I missed the EVO more. It was just more fun driving.
Now i am back to the IX and a garage queen.

FJF--thx for the start. Me 51, BBY 2004 SSL VIII. Been building cars since the 80's--British, Italian, Datsuns, Toyotas, Bugs and friends American Muscle. Built suspensions when a fast car was a 16sec qtr mile time and built engines when there wasn't an aftermarket unless they were race parts and nobody had them in stock or you had to have them made. Ran parts stores for Japanese and Engish cars and did a lot of SCCA work with guys that wanted to do more with their street cars but nobody knew how to do it. Haven't had to take a car into a shop but 3 times in 20yrs--the rest I did myself--just getting to hard to recover these days.

Would love to see a pic of the 1969 Datsun 2000 roadster; one of my favorite cars

You can just open up an account on photobucket.com (free) and upload your pictures from your computer to there and then they can be added.....
