Would it be bad to be missing a bolt?

Is the flywheel spinning freely? I believe you need a bracket to hold it in place.

Step #56 shows what I'm talking about

Agree with all that. It's quick and easy. If you used an impact wrench even easier. Take a break and go back to it

Had the same problem once. I put down the air gun, went to NAPA and bought a new one. Air wrenches loose their power with some use.

take a 6 point 17mm socket and grind down flat the head about 1/8" so that the socket will make full contact with the head of the bolt since the bolts have shallow heads. You can heat the head of the bolt with a propane torch. Make a bracket to hold the flywheel in place to keep from spinning use a strip on metal drill two holes one on each end attach one end to flywheel where the clutch cover would bolt to and other end to the block useing one of the tranny bolts. That should work unless your bolts are beyond repair.

Yes you need every bolt on the fly wheel. Remember to loc-tite themm when you reinstall them.

Mine came off with a breaker bar....

Use a bigger breaker bar! I have a 1/2"x36" and a 42" breaker and it's done everything from crank bolts, axle nuts and flywheel bolts. How big is yours? Also, using a decent socket that fits snug is important too.

More juice on the pneumatic gun. Also, try torquing all of the bolts back in, and loosening the stuck one. When they're loosened, a lot of tension is put on the last bolt, hence having the tendency to get stuck.

One other thing...try not to "torque" the bolt off. Use sharp movements (which is why impact wrenches work the way the do)
