Smog guy ran my evo on 2wd dyno. Any damage?

Hey guys.

Today I went to get my Evo 9 smogged (in CA). I heard my car running in first gear and looked into the shop and the smog guy put the front wheels on the dyno and started to run the car. He ran the front wheels at ~3mph for about 15 secs untill I stopped him and told him that it is an AWD car.
I didnt even know that it was possible for front wheels to spin while the rears are stationary. Drove ok afterwards.
What are the chances for my T-case being damaged? On the 15 min drive home everything seemed to be ok.
Any thoughts guys?

P.S.
Good news- passed smog.
Thx

I vaguely remember this: not sure of the accuracy of this statement.

If the E brake is engaged it will disengage the center diff. This is only on cars with ACD, and I believe RS's.

What year/model?

I believe this was built in as part of the rally heritage. Power sliding on gravel FTW.

What a numb scull. I think you should be ok. If anything starts to sound wrong or feel funny make sure you go back to them and hold them accountable.

research a little more, but im pretty sure you lucked out. it would have spun the back tires or stalled otherwise. Maybe shoot one of the Rally enthusiasts a PM and double check the center diff thing, I'm 90% sure that I am correct.

Cheers

Tell the guy that if there is any damage to the tcase or drive train in the next X amount of miles he is accountable for it.

smog

Are you sure you saw the rollers moving? Some smog shops rev the car but don't actually move the rollers

wow this is interesting.

i think you are SOL on holding him accountable. once u leave they dont take responsibility anymore, because you could have damaged it yourself for example and come back to blame them. unless you took information and had them sign a paper agreeing to the terms. im almost 100% positive on this that your out of luck holding them responsible. hopefully the above statements about the ebrake are true.

IF your handbrake was up then the ACD doesnt send power to your rear wheels. So your fine.

I saw the damn rollers moving 100%. The E-brake was up 100% also, so hopefully that saved me.
