got a little more seat time with the car the other day. softened up the rear end a little more and the car STILL rotates!

Have a race coming up in a couple weeks so we'll see if the changes ive made to work with the ACD-Tuning mod have been for the better.

spent some time brainstorming with Matthew on car set-up and the acd settings. Making some changes to the car for this weekend, hopefully we can find even more time on course. will update after this weekends events.

Just got an ACD unit from Matt. Custom street/Autocross map. Plugged it in and went for a spirited drive. I can only say: Phenomenal. It ties the whole car together. Much better steering feel, less understeer, car can be driven with much more confidence at any speed. Moves the Evo to a whole different level as far as suspension feel goes. Car should have come like that. Should be first modification for any Evo. Can't wait to try my TRE Max-lock with this.

do you still have the stock rear diff? my has the jdm assembly and it feels well balanced. the other guys car we put my tuned acd in had a stock rear diff and he said it was still very neutral.

Still on stock diff. TRE 12 plate on garage floor waiting to be installed. Flash was done w/ 12-plate in mind. Other mods are Robispec springs, PSRS, Whiteline RCK, spherical front LCA bushing, Whiteline rear bump steer kit.

Spherical rear trailing arms will go in with the rear diff. Also contemplating 25mm front bar depending how I like the overall set-up. But it's damn good now. The rear works with the front rather than separately ... very nice linear feel ... very confidence inspiring at speed.

a few updated on the ACD Tuning flashes:

2 more 1st in pax (1.2 seconds and .95 seconds over second place)
1 - ASP Hill Record at the 46th annual Freezeout Hillclimb
1- SM Hill Record at the 48th annual Freezeout Hillclimb

the hill climbs were the first time ive ran rcomps on the car. all i can say is WOW. the combo is just like my street tires, just faster! very neutral entry (no push) with (IMO) perfect throttle on oversteer. i used the Tarmac tune since there is little error in these events, but am very excited to try the gravel and snow tunes at autox in 2 weeks, see what how it all ties in together!

update - car is still working well but the driver needs a tune-up!

2nd in PAX at this last weekends autox. was able to drift the car around a few tight corners with ease, still loving how neutral the car is with the ACD-Tuning magic

Good review. Hoping to do this soon.

BTW...I ran w/ srscca 6-7 times when I lived in sun valley 5 years ago. Those parking lot pics look familiar. Much bigger and better courses than the local group here in Maine.

Ran autox on rcomps for the first time in the Evo today. Day started out rough but was able to somewhat adjust to the tires. Ended up 1st in pax by approx .7 seconds and FTD for the "cars"

Was finally able to utilize the acd on my snow tune ( most aggressive) and it was a blast!

I'm sending my ACD in to Matt this week. Reading your thread what do you suggest for autocross events. The aggressive or mild tune? Initially I was thinking get the most aggressive tune from Matt. I'm running coilovers, whiteline rck, perrin psrs, and rsb. I need better turn in and less mid turn understeer.

It really depends on what type of tires you're running. If you're running slicks, you can utilize a more aggressive mapping. If you're running street tires, than the mapping should be toned down a bit. The aggressiveness of the mapping selection is based on grip levels.

as Matt said it def depends on your tires as well as spring rate. i let a buddy codrive my car a few weeks ago when i was on 255 rs3's and he was doing very well in the tarmac tune. when i switched to gravel he spun out, but he had never driven my car and isnt a very aggressive driver.

after having the tunes for a few months now i would say my "go-to" tune is the most recent gravel tune. ive let (2) local drivers use it for a few runs and they have taken off approx 1 sec IMMEDIATELY. the only disclaimer i would put out is if you are doing a high speed event the tarmac is a bit more conservative. we did a hillclimb a few weeks ago with speeds over 100 and i felt the gravel was too loose considering the risks involved in an event like that. i used it with the rcomps yesterday afternoon bc it was getting hot and a bit greasy and it still was the ticket.

did another autox yesterday. down a bit on raw time but 1st in pax.
