My buddy has a leaking evo8 valve and was thinking to either upgrade to a evo 9 valve or a forge ..Whats better overall ? Thanks

 

What is he/she running for boost?

I'd personally run a stock Evo 9 DV and call it good.

 

Maybe up tp 29 to 30 max!!But most likely 28 all day.

 

im running a stock bov just test mine yesterday held 28 psi no problem

 

Yeah, I recent did a boost leak test on my car and didn't notice a leak at almost 30psi.

The stock 9 DV's are fairly common in the for-sale section of the forums. I even have an extra one (crushed) sitting in my basement collecting dust.

A little off topic but 30 psi seems like a lot for pump gas. This car has been tuned?

Neither. I've tried both. Get a Synapse. It's hands-down the best DV I've ever used.

 

At that boost level the stock 9 might even be a liability. Some hold that level and others don't. Get a used APS or the Snapse. The Forge can work but it will sacrifice driveability.
