So in 5th gear and 7300 RPM you are at 190 KPH? and it starts to stumble or hiccup, or it just wont go any faster at all?

Jap spec evo VI?? if it is then you have hit the limiter.. you need to get evoscan and flash the comp to get rid of it... It should be floor it then engine will cut or seem like its dead, if you keep the foot to the floor it will arc up again once your speed reduces to about 170 or so...

All Jap spec evos are limited to 190kmh

Sounds like factory speed cut, it can be removed with a reflash.

But, 7300 rpm in 5th? That should be much quicker than 190 kph.

Well you could have an RS or an RSII or you could have an RS drive train... which would explain it....

LOL I see what you did there.

But to the OP, I believe it is the limiter and you have one crazy gear ratio.

It could.

So you have an RS?

If you are hitting the rev limiter in top gear you have two options to increase your top speed.

1. Increase your rev limiter. This isn't really recommended, you'd have to modify certain parts of your engine to make it capable of withstanding higher RPM and the gains wouldn't be very much at all.
2. Look at your options to modify your drivetrain (I don't know enough about ratios with transmissions and differentials to advise any further).

Evo VI is a blanket term for that whole generation of evos.

GSR is the regular street trim evo. RS is the evo with non essentials removed, power windows, expensive seats, airbags etc. RS was intended for race car builders to buy and not have to pay for a whole lot of parts that they weren't going to keep anyway. RS2 is an RS with a few features from the GSR added, sort of midway between the two models.

Do you have manual or electric windows? If you have manual windows you have an RS.

If you have electric, do you have TD05RA-15GK2 or TD05HRA-16G6 turbo? (Turbo will have a stamp on it).

The 15G is from the GSR, the 16G is the RS2.

Edit: Turbo specs are wrong. GSR is TD05HR-16G6-10.5T. RS/RS2 is TD05HRA-16G6-10.5T. Difference is the A indicates a different turbine wheel.

for some reason i think your running out of gear, or speed limiter or both.
i dont know anything about those drivetrains, but you can get a lower final drive or get a lower 5th gear. (if available)
