Unless the engine in an Evo is more sensitive than others, the engine will be fine with a different oil aslong as it is the same viscosity and both oils are synthetics.

Kinda sad that they didn't consult you first, but amazing at the same time because they actually told you in the end.

Why the **** would they consult you? It's an oil change, not a heart transplant. If you care so much, don't take it to the dealer for something that would take you 5 minutes to do yourself.

If you cared that much about oil, then you probably wouldn't be putting in mobile 1 anyway.

I had they switch it out yesterday as I watched them so I know I got Mobil. I was just pissed they told me at the end n not before they did it. I bought my car new in 06 n todate it has not even 11k on it. The only oil I ever put in it was Mobil. That's y it was a big deal to me

I think I'm just going to do the oil changes myself now. The only reason I had the dealership do them before is so I have records of it getting done.

Mobil company should give you VIP trophy. You just wasted brand new oil for just another "decent" oil.
You know even they switched out oil, there some castrol oil will in your motor.

because its a dealership and many engines call specific oil even by brand.
Its a guaranteed oil which the OEM does all their emissions, durability, and power rating tests with and is never a poor choice to use what's recommended.

...but it seriously takes 5-10 mins to change oil and they sell it at walmart, but not everyone works on cars, even oil changes.

Is it just marketing or really guaranteed?

Even company recommand which brand to use, most dealer doesnt care long as they use right weight. But nothing wrong with it, most of all oil brands now makes nice oil. I think people just love mobil because of their name. Heck even my mom knows mobil.

Oil change never takes 5~10 mins for me. Just drain oil takes about that long for me.

I'm sure Mitsu would find a way to deny a claim based on Castrol being used instead of Mobil 1.

Raise your hand if you still have a warranty

The IX's are pretty much all out of warranty at this point.

There are many better oils than M1.
