Can't wait for you to get this tuned on E85... I am gonna have to head down there and see how it pulls along side the conservative IX! Haha

I preferably would like a wider tire, however I'm also unsure if I could upgrade the width (maybe 255/40/17) or would it be wiser for me to go back to the stock tire size of (235/45/17). Preferably I would like to get a 255 tire, that fits the current wheels I have. Does anyone have a good summer tire that would fit all the way around? I cant find the measurements to the Konigs, let alone the model unfortunately although I have only done a limited amount of searching.

I know that's a lot on information, just wanted to get some opinions from the experts! Thanks for any help guys!

Figured since I'm retuning now on E85 I should push what I can out of it so I also chose to order a set of GSC S1 Cams from Mellon Racing last night as well...

Will report back with dyno #s after next weeks tune! Thanks for the help guys, hope it will be fun!
245-40-17 is a great size... lots of tires exist in this size, it gives you a small acceleration benefit over stock but not so much that your speedometer is way off, etc etc. How wide are your wheels? You should be able to figure that out with a ruler...

The reason I ask is, a 255 on less than a 9" wheel might not get you a lot of benefit over a 245, other than looks.

The 615s arent a bad tire though they have been surpassed by a lot of other tires in that bracket.

The reason I chose the 255 Falken RT615k's weren't necessarily for a specific reason. My girlfriends cousin works at Discount Tire and I went in there and was offered a set of the tires for the price of 3 (only 3x charge for tires, tire warranties, labor) thus ended up saving over $300. My wheels are 9.5" wide. Regardless its an upgrade from my previous all-seasons. Dyno tune Wednesday!

I go to IPS Motorsports. I figured i would mention this becauses I noticed you are from Ohio as well. They're a well known central Ohio tuning facility in Columbus.

Have you had cams installed yet? Depending on the cam you got, and providing that you,do end up with a larger turbo, you could be limiting yourself by not also doing spings and retainers while you're in there. I know you're on somewhat of a budget, but it may be worth waiting and Saving the extra money. At least, that's what I did.

My mechanic said that some EVO owners replace the head studs one at a time without replacing the head gasket, but he recommends pulling the motor apart and replacing the gasket. He said the one-at-a-time method is only 1.5 hrs labor, but his method is 5 hrs labor. Can anyone comment or recommend an approach?

Thanks!

Melt with ample heat or burn with the most corrosive of acid your Forge MBC, and get something better (Hallman Pro, for example).
