Not to flame or anything, but 100k to get this car into the 9's or 10's because Norris spent that is rediculous. The reason they say they put 100k into it is because they R&D some of the engine internals and what not (have to get my July SCC mag to remember).

I have about 10 grand in go fast parts alone, basically buschur's stage 4 with an AEM unit w/ FJO and converted to speed density. Next thing I will be doing is a turbo upgrade, complete engine work, new fuel system and nitrous, and then to fix the driveline when there are more parts available.

This is what I would expect to spend next to IF I wanted to get into the 10's or possibly the 9's:

10k = Engine work
4k = Turbo kit
2k = Fuel system and nitrous
10k = Driveline fix, hope to be able to get 2 or 3 of everything for this price.

Total invested = 36k roughly. I think by the time I am done with it I will only have 25k to 30k invested.

IMHO the Mitsu Evo isnt the proper platform for 9s in the 1/4 mile. If you want 1/4 mile performance American Muscle will be the cheapest. If you have a thing for Japanese imports (like most of us probably do) go with a supra, or RX-7. You can basicall bolt on 9sec worth of go fast parts onto a supra. If i were you I would think of what my goals were with a car (i.e. drag, street, track, etc.) then go buy the platform that can help you best achieve those goals.

Just my opinion

It's not going to be cheap with any type of car if your going to try to run 9's 0r 10's.

1) First you need a car.

2) You need to buy go fast parts.

3) You need to spend on maintenance and tuning

4) You need to spend some more money on back-up and spare parts, because you will break stuff trying to get into the 9's and 10's I don't care what kind of car it is. Things WILL BREAK.

You'll need some interesting clutch and transmission work, but it could be cheaper and easier than anything else.
I like the sound of that, but why only 400bhp? Don¡¦t drag racing civics run up to 800bhp? If you could get two of those ¡¥boxes, and two Norris Design units then you could have 1600bhp! Oh no, gone too far againƒº

Or you could sell your car, house and anything else you could lay your hands on and get one of these; http://www.mach2racing.com/the_rs200e.htm

You got to look at the testing bit! ļ

I think you should go to a track some day and talk to the guys running in the low 10's high 9's to really get an idea how much it takes to get a car in the 9's. I ran S/G cars for about 10 years and they are hanfull to drive little loan get a car into the 9's. The numbers a those guys put down look easy but they spend a ton of money, time, broken parts, and more money getting there.
