Small Batteries

I am making my own small battery tray and currently ordering a small batt. Wonder if there is any sugested or preferred brand/models that people have the best luck with.

I'll have to check when I get home, but I'm fairly certain mine is the Buschur model.

I've never had any problem cranking my car... I garage it for the entire winter with the battery out, and just kept the battery in my room... never bothered to charge it or anything. Hooked it right up, and it cranked like it never missed a beat.

Even with temps in the high 20's, the battery seems fine.

I know many other people report problems with their mini batts, but I don't find any of those issues with mine.

Majority of the small battery kits use the Odyssey PC-680 for their setups.

Yes... sorry. That was a point I wanted to make, but forgot to. Most, if not all... are pretty much the same thing.

I'm a big fan of the Braille Carbon Fiber batteries if you can afford them.... That said I use a Oddessy PC680 in my EVO and a Walmart Lawn Tractor battery in my DSM ;-) ... Neither have given me any issues at all..The Lawn and tractor battery starts the DSM everytime ..has sit for over 6 monthes and fired it right up... I even drove to the SHootout and back with it at night both ways ~850 mile round trip w/ no ill effects.. ...

I can't say I've had any problems with my Oddessey either but I do have friends that have had them go bad if you dont trickle charge them or start the car regularly ...

Ive been looking things up and some people go with the Deka batteries, odyssey, braille. Deka being what braille uses and for a much cheaper price.

I just made my own tray and opted for the Brallie B2317, its one of the largest braille batteries they offer (17lbs).... the specs actually out perfrom a stock Miata battery which is what I originally was considering. My battery was tested a 721 CCA.... that's alot for a mini battery, regular CA is over 1100 I believe.

Good thing is the stock battery tie actually fits this battery exactly WOOT!
