Did all FP HTA86 turbos have that "HTA86" stamp on the back of the comp. cover? The ones Ive seen always had that stamp but maybe the early ones didnt? Bought a used one here and just wanna make sure. Its got a garrett tag with #

I never took notice on my turbo and i probably cant see it while its on the car

Have you tried calling FP and seeing if they can give you any insight?

 

I did..Amber said they all pretty much had the stamp but a very small few, but those had it inscribed instead of a stamp. The seller is a good guy but I just want to verify

I looked at my turbo and it has the same tag with the numbers on the center section. But i couldnt see a FP marking on the turbo. And i KNOW my turbo is real

Count the number of blades on the compressor side. I believe the HTA compressor wheel has seven blades while the standard Garrett wheel has only six.
