But the problem is, your insurance company may not recognize the VIN sequence (as foreign models not sold in the U.S. don't always register, like when one of my friends wanted an insurance quote from me for his Skyline R32 GT-R). Yes, you can figure out what kind of a car it is by its VIN, but insurance companies don't do VINs for every car known to man. So you may have to insure it as a collector car, though of course some companies might just do it anyway if an underwriter can clear it.

This is a common problem with many imports that i have looked at in the past, i had to turn down an R33 gtr because of this problem. I had a few insurers not know how to handle this but surprisingly a few did. Fortunatly after speaking with many different people at a variety of insurance companies, i found someone who knew exactly what i had and how to handle it. Took care of everything and she has been fully insured for her exact VIN, make, model, and year, at a very reasonable price i might add.

Everyone agrees this would be ideal, I wish it had the original front and paint as well. Luckily though it seems completly unmolested other than Ralliart parts (intake, full exhaust. shifter) which suposidly came on some evo's from the factory in japan.. and an ugly autometer boost gauge..

Yeah, it's tricky, but an intelligent insurance agent can figure it out, assuming that the underwriters will clear it. But some carriers who used to be able to do it are trying to distance themselves from it, as their updated underwriting guidelines specifically say that they will not do grey vehicles, but that varies from state to state.

Very nice man! How difficult is it driving RHD over here for you? Must be a little weird

And I bet you've put on the wipers instead of the turning signals before

Haha, my first day out in the VII i probably wore the wipers out completly ! But i adjusted by the second day. Orienting myself on the other side of the street wasnt a big issue and shifting the the other hand wasnt bad either.

When i have to crawl across my seats at a toll both thats a bit uncomfortable

Wow I remember that car. I picked up a friend from the airport in in years ago. I also tuned it years ago. I love that car.

Enjoy it in good health!!
