about launching my car at the track
Here is my advise from a owner of 2 evo's, buy a clutch like a stage 2 or depending on what your wanting later then thats your choice. Practice the slow roll, fast lift and you'll probably burn it up the first few launches until you get the feeling right. when you know what the feeling is you'll remember!
PPS : the reason I said buy another clutch is cause your going to need it anyways if you plan on keeping the car ! lol

The only "launch control device" you need IMO is your 2 feet and a brain. Ease off the clutch until it starts grabbing and you start inching forward. At that point, quickly (but smoothly) let the rest of the clutch out. It's not a dump, it's a quick release. On my car, on the stock clutch and around 350whp the clutch slips pretty much just the right amount for a good launch when I do this.
This is how I was taught to launch my car, it works perfectly.
1. Stage your car.
2. With your car completely stopped, depress your clutch, put your car in 1st gear, and floor the throttle. If done correctly your car should bounce off the 2 step (~5500rpm).
3. Once the lights start to drop, ease off the clutch so the clutch starts to grab. When you see the 3rd yellow, release the clutch the rest of the way. You do it at the 3rd light because by the time it hits green, you should just be passing the line.
If done correctly, the car should not bog and you won't hurt your transmission, transfercase, etc. I've launched my car 100+ times easily doing it this way.
