I know a lot of questions on the board are legitimate as well. And yes, asking questions is part of the reasons that I am on this board.

There are also a lot of posters who sometimes don't even have EVOs (we find this on other forums) that just make up stuff and whine here about bogus stuff.

All I am saying is, if there is a problem, as much as they can, POST PROOF here. That way, all of us can be sure about these concerns and act accordingly. Wouldn't you want some truth when they claim something about a car to make sure its legit and its something YOU should be concerned about as well?

I think it'll be more helpful for all of us.

We are all here (well most of us) to help each other and educate/inform one another on our EVOs (Mitsu, and all cars in general), and I have not forgotten that.

Little more proof in the post is needed....but any board will have some problems but since the evo is a bad *** car people beat them to death everyday,I cant do that to my sweet EVO if you love the car youll treat it good and sometimes open her up...but if you have endless money to replace evos thats cool also........


Seen alot of burned clutches...

We all know launching a AWD drive car at 6000 rpm the clutch is going to go,we also know in any tranny if you launch a car and you have mad wheel hop you will bust the tranny,this is true for any car and the evo is bulllet proof but AWD Launches and wheel hop will kill ANY tranny and or clutch expacially on AWD car..

Have 14000 miles no probs with the clutch granted I Ive probably launched the car about 5 times....

Anyways if its a legit question about probs with the car thats cool,but if youve been racing,launching the car everyday,with mad wheel hop.. dont wonder why the clutch burned out etc etc.

These posts are for all obviously but I have found the folks with Eclipse Turbo and specific Mitsubishi ownership knowledge to be more helpful..

The random people that jump on a thread with NO cars listed in their sig or one that isn't even an EVO sometimes bother me..

It's not to say that I don't think the info they could provide would be worthwhile, but some of those poeple have really obnoxious posts..and when I see them post I want to say.."look Honda Accord owner commenting on the EVO....get lost"

I revere these boards as a brotherhood of EVO owners..not just car enthusiasts..There are PLENTY of other car boards to go to for those people that want to just talk cars..

I personally like the exclusivity and ability to speak with other EVO owners ..

 

well, ive had my evo for about a month...and no, its not in my sig.
also, if i post something abt my car, etc., i dont feel i have to "prove" anything to any members of a car board..sorry fellas, but some of you are taking this waaaaaay to seriously.
if someone posts a problem abt his car and u suspect bs, ask a question or two and decide for yourself...
and another thing, most of us have had our cars for anywhere from a matter of months to a few weeks. (evo8)...i dont care what u guys say, you shouldnt be breaking parts on a new car in a matter of months. (assuming its pretty much stock). so if your worried that your car is gonna break because you drive it like a performance car, i dont know what to tell you. but it seems like some of you take it as a personal insult when someones evo breaks....
lighten up.

Hey, what can I say, I have a strong opnion about a lot of things..(the board knows this) and will defend my opinion ( all know this too) but I am not taking anything too seriously...Just voicing an opinion about something I find annoying..

Wow...I thought I woke up in America. Home of the brave and land of the $1300+ clutch job because Mitsu underdesigned or miss installed the one I have (had as of today, its at AMS as I type). As others have stated this is exactly what this board is great for, to share the crap and the compliments regarding our EVO's. I drive/drove fast but do not abuse the car and I smelled clutch at 2000 miles, been driving a clutch for over 25 years.

For all we know you are from Mitsu and are trying to quell some of the dissatifaction that some of us have with our cars.

As I have stated in other posts, the car for the most part is great, but there are a few major problems and a bunch or minor annoyances too. And this is the place to share our thoughts about both.

As for proof, how bout you drive with me, then pay for my clutch and then you take pics of the old one, and then post them, and then, and then and then...you get the idea. Our word is our proof, pics can be faked, and are all the time, although granted thats harder to do.
