Rattling exhaust
Rattling exhaust
I Have a Greddy TI full exhaust. Been hearing rattling at Idling and at a certain RPM it gets real loud. Kind of annoying. Anyone figure out how to clear this? I thought somewhere someone said something about felt??? wierd but if it works please share!!! I spoke with an exhaust guy and he said it happeneds to many evos.. and he said it was an issue of those rubber hangers the hold up the exhaust.
help?!?!?!?!?
help?!?!?!?!?
Its the baffle man inside the muffler there known for that..happened to my greddy ti it was the most anoying thing ever and loud mostly at idle. Its a defect from greddy the only way to fix it right on your own would be to cut the cansiter open are retap weld the baffle inside. Over time the tap welds get weak and break which causes the rattling.

Does anyone even do this?? or is it too much cost effective rather than just get a new exhaust?

Agreed. This is going to be the only way to pin point the problem. I had to do the same thing with my car, granted I still have a factory exhaust, but the heat shield on the downpipe had rusted apart at the welds, had to just tear the sucker off to fix that problem.
Upgrading your exhaust hangers wouldn't be a bad idea either, Torque Solutions makes the hangers for under $50 if I remember correctly. Pretty sure STM sells them.
Im honestly not to sure but there are def places out there that can do it, but it will be expensive considering the material is titanium but i can almost garentee thats your problem. Do a quick google search on rattling baffle you will see there with this problem
Im having the same issue with MXP exhaust. It's hitting the drive shaft at times too.. if not the drive shaft, its the sub frame. Im quite disappointed with them. I even changed the hangers..
so I decided to send an email to Greddy.. Didnt think they'd reply back but they basically said they'd fix it... if its under warranty... mines not ahhahaha unless I can get a fake reciept lol
My Greddy Ti was rattling at idle too and thought its the baffle inside, but after readjusting the angle on it and tightened the hanger near the axle the noise went away. Haven't heard the noise since. Don't cut your exhaust...
I have the same issue... I had the car running on the lift, and it is not hitting anything... mine sounds like it is coming from the resonator, not the muffler. I am going to remove the resonator and see if it goes away...
