wow clutch at 2k that's crazy!

When my first clutch went out, I purchased a twin plate and it went out in 1k... but exedy kindly gave me a new one- Had a defective one before.. I just had to tear it out again! sux!

But that clutch lasted 80K miles so I ended up replacing it ( it was still good) with the same one.

Bought car with 66k, and it already had a clutch done. I replaced at 85k with twin disk, then again at 112k. 143 now, and going strong.

Timing changed at 80k.

Trans - 143k still stock. 3rd and 5th sychros showing signs of wear.

TC - 143k still stock.

Rear - 143k still stock.

Engine is completely stock except for S1 cams.

My car easily does 300miles/week, plus two drivers for autox, and monthly HPDE.

Bought my IX completely stock and original parts with 25k miles on it. Went E85 at 80k. I'm at 96k now and shes still running like a champ.

Replaced clutch @ 76k (had to since I was weeks away from E85 )

Water pump was leaking @ 60k

Mild wear on timing belt and serpentine belt @ 65k, but I still replaced them.

Stock brembo rotors @ 80k (replaced with slotted gyrodisk)

Radiator cap at 30K
Accessory belt at 40K
Small coolant hoses (like those to the turbo) at 60K

Good point on the coolant hoses. The one that goes from the head to the throttle body on my car splitted and leaked while I was on track a few weeks ago. I alwasy inspected these hoses, but looks can be deceiving as they say. Saved my car from the wall, but immediately ordered all new hoses.

Damn, I gatta check mine this weekend... 132K miles and havent checked them yet. My radiator went out at 90K ended up swaping with a Koyo one. Remember the Koyo ones have that cheap plug at the bottom.. dont over tighten!! Id recomend tephlon taping or get a aluminum one(190 bucks).

Just bought a IX with 71k on the clock. Stock clutch still grabs like a sum***** and everything else looks and feels great. Just replaced plugs and diff/trans fluids but that's all. Doing the Tbelt/WP and S1 cams at 80k.

when you do the timing belt. It helps to get the tensioner tool and the cam gear tool from AMS. You can prob get away without the gear tool..

My buddy accidentally knocked one of the timing gears out of TDC and totally messed everything up...... good news is, theres a way to move the cams so that all the valves stay up and you can move the crankshaft safely. but thats another story lol

Not to sound ignorant, but is the EVO really that much different than doing a belt in a 1G or 2G DSM, orientation notwithstanding? I've done more of those than I can count and from reading through the guides, it seems very similar?
