Mishimoto radiator
Mishimoto radiator
So I just got one of these on Thursday(5/24/12). At first glance it appears to look on par with other aluminum radiators.
Upon installing the radiator into the car, it did not go in square. With all of the OEM supports in place, the radiator was off by about 3/8" from end to end. I had to lathe delrin bushings for the bottom of the radiator to correct to wrong offset. Once that was done, the radiator fits almost square.
Next, finally got the radiator all installed and burped. Once the RPM got up about 6k, I stared to spray coolant all over the place. This was not gear dependent, however the car at 6k was always at about 20psi.
I replaced the cap with an brand new OEM cap and has not leaked a drop of coolant.
Next, a JMF O2 dump will not fit well at all with a Mishimoto radiator. It will rub 100% for sure, I had to offset the lower radiator bushings to clear the JMF O2 Dump.
I am not running the stock fan, so I cannot comment on how that fits.
I picked mine up from amazon:

I think this is a great radiator for someone who does not want to spend real money on one, so for 240 bucks shipped it is pretty hard to beat. You just have to deal with a made in china product.
I will update the info with other info as it comes along, and may some pics so everyone can see what I had to do to make this thing work.

damn bro that sux, i helped install my friends mishimoto radiator and we had no problems at all. his car doesnt run higher than 140 degrees. we did have the radiator cap problem, but just like you we replaced it with a new and no problems. i'm gona go with the CBRD thin radiator, we did have some clearance issues with the swapped 9 turbo in the evo 8 though.
boz i have been running one since 2010 and half sizes in my honda since 2006. I agree with you the fitment is not there like it is with other rads i wanted a cbrd slim rad but couldent swing the price at the time. i havent had any problems with the rad i havent had to replace caps or anything i will tell you this they are a stand up company. i pushed the core out on my rad on both sides from when i blew my head gasket and i emailed them with pics serial number ect and two weeks later i had a new rad no questions asked i cant ***** about anything there customer service was top notch
also running a 13' inch spal puller fan on mine a 12' inch would fit better tho i also noticed i am running the older evo style with the relocated hose and i dident have to do anything special to make it fit.
the gap i was not happy with but its not there fault the condensor sticks back to far i dident realize this till later.

so what i did was buy one of those shrouds / air diversion panels
and now i dont even notice the gap.
