Update: I tore my other unit out of my other car, no communication issues its fine. The 02 sensor has a problem.

My harness from the ZT2 unit to the sensor is fine, did a continuity check for all pinouts, no problem.
The 02 sensor, I have fully took the sheathing off and the wires are perfectly fine it is not damaged externally. The heater element power/ground works fine no problem

I'm curious what makes the 02 sensor read lean when it goes bad vs. reading like its disconnected.
Internal damage to the sensor?

Yes, I am contacting Zeitronix (even though its not like I'm expecting anything from it, need to buy a new sensor obviously), especially now that I know they answer emails on the weekends, but I figured this info may help the community.

It's a Bosch sensor 5 wire sensor. Like I said there was no signal going to the zt2 from the sensor. The sensor is either broken or bad.

Update: Sensor had an internal connection issue, not something you could see..... new sensor fixed the problem.

I also have a problem with my zeitronix .

happened 3-4 time last year that while cruising the gauge just block to 14.6 . The first time it last about 30 seconds like that and then start reading back normally . And then i could be stuck like that randomly for 2 minutes .

i contacted marc and he said to me that there is no way the zt-2 unit could go bad and i most likely need a new sensor . So i bought a new sensor and now i got the same old problem after a couple months .

It is so random that it's impossible to log when it happen to see what it reads in evoscan .

14.7 AFR
A bad O2 sensor or a bad connection between the Zt-2 and the O2 (the O2 harness)

The Zt-2 treats O2 senors very gently. If your O2 sensor is going off frequently there is a possibility of unburned mixture hitting the O2 senors. Rich AFR, or unburned rich E-85 act like water dumped on a glowing red hot ceramic heater causing it to crack. If you would heat a glass plate to red hot and dump it in a water it will shatter to pieces.

My car does not run any richer than any normal evo . It is tuned correctly with decent AFR . And we do not have E85 in Canada . I run 91 octane gas .

It happen erevy time while cruising when AFR's are stoich or so , beween 14.5 and 14.8 .

And now today while i was driving a 1 hour trip , it just died again for 30 minutes . This thing is pure crap now . How can I had burned 2 new o2 sensors in just 10 months of normal driving .

There's no bad connection in my setup , it's a plug n play device , easy to connect . A 10 years old child could understand that .

I never had any problem like that with my first zt-3 kit on my last car, wired the same way . As a canadian customers , i paid $300USD for something I have to get out of my car because i cannot trust this to tune my car anymore .

You are right, we design everything to be an easy plug and play.
There are thousands of Zt-3s out on the field. We have never seen the Zt-3 box go bad as yet. There are many reasons O2 sensor may die. Rich mixture, high EGTs, oil, silicon contamination, water vapor to name few. If you think you Zt-3 controller is bad we will be happy to test it for you. Just keep in mind this is a system so to test properly it we need all parts.
