2 questions..... Your opinion matters

My evo 8 has 91,xxx miles and...

Compression is 150/155/158/158 is that good?!?!

And my turbo inlet and coupler from my intake have some oil In it and I'm running a catch can and there is no oil in the catch can lines or the intake tube itself does that equal blown turbo???

Leave your response please

Your compression is fine, If one cylinder was like 135 you would have a problem. As far as the latter, that sounds odd to me...I am sure someone can help with that.

That's good compression. Check oil seal, if your turbo was bad you'd be smoking.

Oil seal where are you referring to? The blades are oily?

Please help and thank you

I've had sparkling clean oil in the intake when the oil in the engine was in need of changing. This tells me that oil leaves the engine vent as vapor and then condenses in the intake.

Your intercooler, piping and throttle body are probably coated too. Mine were after 40k miles stock. I was shocked at how much oil was in my intake tube, maf and stock ic. But that was recirculated blow by. If you have fresh oil in it I'd assume a turbo oil seal. This is blow by

not so fresh

The stock pcv system tends to cause this buildup as the pcv valve leaks a tiny bit and when in boost pushes some of the crankcase gases into the air filter tube and into the turbo, coating everything with oilover time. If you've ran the stock pcv system for an extended amount of time this could be what your seeing. I would clean it all out as best you can and run it and keep an eye on it.

Well, My 1990 Eagle Talon Awd has compression of 145, 125, 110, 120....and it still runs great! And that was awhile ago, its probably lower now! But whatever...
So your motor is doing great!
