It will, unless they offer the RS stripper edition - but that won't be the only version sold. Japan is very very high on a/c, 34-36degree celcius summers with 80-90% humidity is not fun...

You bet... it is for the US market... even if the model doesn't
come with one there will be one (in place of some hardcore
racing stuff if they have to replace it) when it gets here...

And i wont be surprised when someone here will cry later on
for things like leather, power seats, power this, power that...
make me a cadillac lancer... (it's already happening with the

ChrisEVO: I think our cars are the same. All power features and air-conditioning but minus the stereos and speakers. I want to get a rear wiper for my evo.

 

I heard from a reliable source that if you get AC on the EVO the turbo will have to be relocated this means that the front mount innercooler will have to changed to 3 small side mount innercoolers. This creates a problem because 3 innercoolers take up to much space in the engine bay, so 1 cylinder will be removed from the engine. The removal of the cylinder only accounts for a small reduction in power about 6 hp.

I just hope it comes with cassette player. My contact said it may only come with a 8 track, but that is only if you opt for the no heater option. Because the heater core takes up so much space that it is impossible to mount a stereo.

Heh, inline 3 with turbo, like in the Suzuki Cappucino. Nice little car imo but I wouldn't want my favorite 4wd monster to be reduced to that. If that was really the case with the a/c and the cylinder thing, I would go buy one of those dashboard mounted fans.And roll down the windows.

 

for some reason i don't picture mitsu, who's been making these cars for what, 10 years now... dropping a cylinder and just generally ****ing up the car for a/c.

The S2000 makes a surprising number of concessions to luxury, including leather seats (which I could do without) and AC. I highly doubt leather will show up on the Evo - nobody is expecting to be pampered in this car. Power windows/locks/mirrors are not really luxury items, and those will probably be on the Evo. AC will be on the Evo too - California, Texas, and Florida will be big markets for the Evo, and you'd be hard pressed to find enough die-hards who are willing to sweat it out all summer just to save 30 lbs. And seriously - if couldn't figure out a way to mount an AC system without compromising the rest of the engine setup, would you really think so highly of their engineers?

 

Another area where the Evo will follow the S2000 - the stereo will be there but it will probably suck ***. Good way to cut a few hundred dollars off the list price, and people that want to thump will swap it out anyway.
