Going to get a JDM rear bumper
Going to get a JDM rear bumper
So Im looking into Jdm bumpers and have a few questions. (I backed up into a mysterious object in the dark but a small ding and left a nasty crack in my back bumper that is quite noticeable, plus the jdm bumpers with rear diffuser look bad@$$)
I own a 2004 Evo VIII for the record Apex Silver
1. Do evo 9 jdm bumpers fit evo 8 without to much modification.
2. If so lancershop offers a JDM bumper that comes painted in the color of your choice for about 989 id imagine 70-100 for shipping probably so lets just say a tad of 1000. Is this a good deal? (it coming painted is tempting but seems pretty high)
3. There is many brands on there AIT offers one for 269, although id have to get it painted which would be maybe 3-400? idk I have never looked into getting things painted. It supposedly has a 5 star rating too, which is a plus.
If you know a better place for me to buy this or go about buying it I'm open to suggestion I'm just ready to up the looks of my car
thanks in advance.

Yes, OEM evo 9 jdm rears fit an evo 8 without modifications.
I suggest ordering an OEM one through driveline motorsports and also get a Demonwerkz crash beam. The reason I suggest staying away from replica ones is because the material is cheaper. Therefore, if you back into something it won't be a scratch, it will be a hole. Also, you may run into fitment issues with a replica rear. Also, if you keep the OEM crash beam, it will have to be modified to fit a jdm rear therefore, more money it will take to spend in labor.
Contact driveline motorsports (they are on this site, but their company name did change recently). It will be about $1000 shipped with the demonwerkz crash beam, and it comes painted.

I googled driveline and it appears they have a website with free shipping its called drivelinemotoring.com but Im not sure if this is the same guys? the site says they import the bumpers directly form japan and their made of urethane just like the oem ones. Also the demonwerkz crash support beam is on this site.
Look in the vendor section. Driveline is a vendor here. Pm them. You'd have to modify crash beam or remove it. Its about $100-200 to modify i believe depending on where you go. I have the demonwerkz crash beam but it is pricey. You will also need a rivet gun.
