There is a lot of info in the dyno/tuning section on this turbo. I have it myself. This is not a high hp/tq turbo if thats what you're after. It was designed with response in mind, and it does it very well. I autox and track my car, so response was very important to me than peak power. My can, with basic bolt-on's, hit 20psi is 3500rpm. not shappy. Everyone who has driven it loves it.

It's a ball bearing turbo. He gives you about the same amount of power as a stock turbo but it spools much faster. I would consider that a lot better. With a good tune and supporting mods you can probably get about 380+/-hp.

I'm curious how much torque this turbo can make at 3000rpm compared to a stock IX turbo with MIVEC.

I noticed that most of the dyno graphs I see with small turbos are all right around 200ft/lbs at 3000rpm. I've only seen a few X's make more than 240ft/lbs at 3000rpm and it seems that I never see a 4G63T get there.

I know that's such a low rpm but when tuning for response it's where I want the torque to really start ramping up. Do you have a dyno of your car with this turbo?

No i don't. Sorry for the late response. Ive always went stock on all my evo's. This is the first one with a aftermarket turbo. I still got alot to learn with this one. From what i understated so far, it spools quicker and reaches spike at a lower rpm.

The HKS is a very nice turbo, better than stock spool, more power/torque and hangs on better at high RPM compared to stock. Transient response and part throttle is very good. As has been mentioned, it's not a high HP turbo, more autox and road driving. But this has other advantages, the transmission is relatively unstressed, no need for a twin plate clutch, and fuelling does not need an expensive setup.

^^ it means the car has an ECU flash to control boost. Grimm speed and other 3 port solenoids allow you much more fine control over the boost than the stock solenoid.

This . If it isn't then you really have something to worry about since the stock ECU was never setup to run that 3 port or that turbo without some changes. Get it looked at by a proper tuning shop to see what its currently doing.
