Hey doin my own t-case

Since time has gone by I decided to do my own tcase. After taking it apart myself I noticed a few things. Now if anyone can be as so kind to pass on the knowledge. Now the case has been taken apart now for the real issue how do you prevent the pinion from turning inside the housing when trying to move it? Btw I already loosened the locks on the nut on the pinion btw.

My progress:

The second and last pic shows the pinion along with the housing. Now what can I use for the pinion to prevent it from turning on an adjustable 380mm wrench?

At the house? Use the driveshaft. Match up the Splines and hang on.

ha you funny

I managed to do this by myself its a first timer but I did it wasn't hard at all just have to have the right set of tools. I think from now on as long as anyone has the right parts for the tcase I think I would do it for free for the first couple of tries just for the experience.

The solution was that you need a table press or table clamp to clamp down the pinion on the tail end very tightly to keep it frim rotating. I have a 380mm adjustable wrench an slowly turn it clockwise after you take a flathead screwdriver to loosen the locknut.

Honestly I dont even want to mention them again. It's a long story all I can say is never again. All I can say is that I moved on to bigger and better things and I will continue towards helping fellow members on here who need help. Or some other information towards doing work to their cars. To be honest with you if you want it done right go to someone who is more on the level and either deal with them or do it yourself.

Remember not to clearance the pinion and ring too tightly when it goes back together, that's why the factory ones fail. Did you find a spec to use if I may ask?

Your pinion looks pretty worn.

The clearance on it has been put to the spec when supposedly the last company that did the repairs on it.
