fit K&N airfilter to turbo inlet..Bad idea?

fit K&N airfilter to turbo inlet..Bad idea?

Is it fine to fit K&N airfilter to turbo inlet directly ( without intake pipe )?

are you still on the stock MAF or have you converted to speed density? If your still on the stock MAF then no its not a good idea.

Yes on speed density!
Will I get better throttle response and turbo sound since the airfilter stick on the turbo?

The biggest issues I see is air quality at that location... It seems like the filter would heat soak and intake a lot hotter air at that position... I would use the intake pipe to keep positioned away from the radiator as much as possible...

Of course, you might want to log some IATs with both options to prove/disprove this thought.

Front facing turbo would be ok. Stock location not so much. Would just be sucking in a lot of hot air. Keep an intake pipe if its in stock location imo.
