OverHeating

So I went to fuel up my car, rolled in perfecting
Fine, filled up, went to take off, an it started making
This really weird noise under neath my car as if my emergency break was on ( a noise the brakes would make, but wasn't coming from the brakes) as I went through my gears it started to continue

I look down at my gauge, it's through the roof, however, I have the 06 MR, so I have the Other gauges, and that temp was normal, reguardless I pulled over and let it sit.

The anti- freeze is full, the gauge isn't broken cause it is decreasing now...and the "brake noise" isn't te brakes, cause it only made the noise as the car was on and driving in a gear. ( I shut off my car and let it coast, and the noise wasn't going on)

Anyone have this sort of problem? It has been sitting for about 2 hours, and the temp on the dash is down to "regular driving" temp.....could it have been hot before, because it is a 90 degree day? Any help would be awesome

Could it go without any leaks of any kind?.. I just started it and the oil temp (gauge cluster) is cold, but the one on my dash is still about halfway, and it was rising for having it run for 30 seconds

I have no idea what this "brake noise" is. grinding? squeaking? You don't have any leaks? Take off the serpentine belt and see if there is any play on the water pump pulley.

Sounds to me like the belt is slipping on the water pump, causing it to not spin and heat up, that or it's ceased. Either way don't drive the car, you'll cook the motor.

How many miles on it?

It does sound like the water pump has seized and the belt is slipping. How many miles on your car? Has the water pump been changed at all?

It only has 58 thousand on it, and the grinding is like front under neath the car, like something was attached to the drive shaft was hitting the the bottom of the car

Timing belt and waterpump are 60k service items, just an fyi. Bottom line, you need to get the car looked at.

Doesn't mean it couldn't fail. Let it cool down and post a vid Or remove belt and try spinning water pump by hand.

though having all new stuff would make you want to believe it couldn't be the problem, if anything wasn't right during the install, having the 60k recently done could be the culprit.

i think a lot of signs point to the waterpump right now, or indirectly, the belt.

Well I took a picture but can't seem to post it on myobile phone, but I started my vehicle this morning and the temp gauge is about quarter the way up ( what it is when I normally am driving it) and its been sitting all night, so clearly the gauge is ****ed up as well?
