And yeah I don't see how you can begin to pass emissions without the stock ECU. I'm actually surprised that Ontario wasn't at least doing the ODB II tests. Thats actually easier to pass then the tail pipe for us Evo guys.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
Really dont blame you for not moving back here... Cant stand Canada sometimes.

With OBDII Test, if all emission control parameters are disabled... will the car pass??

Im jealous... need a roommie lol screw ontario... I wanna live in the land of no etest/front plate/rules-of-significance

Well the stock ecu would swap in only for etest and then go right back to aem ems 2 after the e-test... I just need to have the car on the road
Trust me you don't want to live in Quebec, due to a few perks for cars. Although there are no etests (they are introducing them soon I've read about it in the papers), front plates and big rules for vehicles, there are so many draw backs in terms of everything else.

I still see cops pull over any kind of car with a loud exhaust and give tickets for tints, mods, etc., the roads are so bad you will bottom out your lowered car or mess up your wheels unless you drive like a grandmother (or a chunk of freeway will fall on your car if you're really unlucky), most cars in QC are beat up to hell so no one gives a crap if they hit your car or you end up walking out to a parking lot and your car has a new dent or scratch, you have to pay for your drivers license card each year (almost $100), the license plate renewal is almost $300/ per year, the taxes are higher than anywhere else in Canada, corrupt government, constant construction 365 days of the year and if you don't speak French fluently good luck with that lol.

I've lived there for years and still would rather live in Ontario>Quebec any day IMO.

Theres the good and the bad here. Theres a lot of drawbacks but an equal amount of advantages. Quebec is a place with insane laws and stuff but theres a lot of ways to "game" the system. I'm like 50/50 between QC and ON.

Undisputed best place to live in Canada though in terms of car legality and freedom is Alberta. No etest, no front plate, customized plate, cheap as dog poo poo insurance (my gf pays $600/yr), and lots of wide open roads.

This all sucks. I am SOOOO glad that I'm out here in Alberta. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before more stringent laws come about, however for the time being: YAY for AB!

Oh, and I love the highways through the foothills. Scenic twisty fun!

Yup. OBD II readiness, EGR/EVAP/Rear 02 spoof and the only thing to worry about is not having a cat (If you have a test pipe you can get around visual).

My wife was born in Lethbridge.

And depends on where you live. Northern States have bad roads and everywhere has cops that like to harass car enthusiasts.

Don't even get me started on Alberta Dee! Living there for 3 years I realized there were some really good things and some really bad things as well.

My favourite things were the fact there are no front plates, license renewal and exchange is quicker than buying a combo at McDonalds, no etest/big restriction on mods, and cheapo insurance.

I did however hate the fact my old cars had their windshields chipped 90% of the time due to the fact they don't clean the roads from the gravel they pour on it in the winter, potholes were all over the place and my eclipse at the time went though 2 bent wheels and a bunch of flat tires due to them, pick up trucks with ***** on the back are everywhere and the drivers are terrible (never seen so many car accidents in my life), many drunk drivers (no one seems to care over there), 80% of the time you drive it's freezing cold and owning a sports car sucks there since they never plow the roads, cars are super expensive compared to other provinces even without PST, no shops to buy parts from or get work done/tuned just talk to EZ Motorsports in Edmonton what a joke LOL!

I could go on, but again Ontario>Alberta>Quebec IMO for driving/owning a vehicle. Each province has their pros and cons and in the end they all balance out.

Don't even get me started on the culture and lifestyles of each province too lol.

I must say dirt is better than salt Salt is the reason I dont winter drive my car...
But lots of car accidents and drunk drivers thats brutal...
Also... you cant buy parts in Ontario either.. ive come to the conclusion that Canada sucks dick for moding a car... Thats exactly why I bought ALL my parts from the states and am doing my own build myself... Local shops around here are retarded and quality is bare minimum... Do it yourself and live up to your own standards (mine are high) I apreciate your feedback on this matter as I am a hair away from moving, and AB sounds better than ON to me, but of course I need to look into it alot more

Woah woah....we just meant its good in terms of car ownership. Theres the whole barren-desert-frigid-wasteland part and the whole Albertan rednecks thing to deal with as well . I'm also considering moving there in a couple years but also Vancouver. I'm just tired of Quebec and Ontario. Quebec has enough corruption to rival an African nation. Ontario has a stick so far up its *** it can be considered spelunking (just like Cali).

Vancouver is kinda expensive to live, no?

Isn't Ultimate Racing still in operation? Didn't they make stuff for Evo's for a while. When I was there and into Honda's they were one of the most well known shops to go to (But hella expensive).

UR sucks *****. I don't like the quality of their kits and they're so over priced even for Canadians. Its just average parts, not on par with major US vendors. Their shop is about 10mins from my parents' place in Toronto but they don't do store front service. Everything is over the phone / online now.

Yup. Sounds like. I remember Jackson being one of the first to swap a GSR motor into a Civic out there. Sucks their prices still are really high.

Not the whole of Canada, just Ontario. Its more because of the party in power right now actually than anything else. Lets not get into the whole plastic bags fiasco in ON....
