A pic might help me better understand... Right now I have everything disassembled (lower cover, etc) to get to the timing belt

how can you tell what cams you have? I have cams on mine but when i bought my evo it came with them? got it from a dealer who got it from an auction

I guess a better title to this post would be timing belt help. I am not doing a cams installation. I just messed up the timing...

i'm cofused now? i was under the impression your belt was already off? was the belt not off?

yes that is correct timing belt is off, balance belt is on.

The crankshaft pulley is where I am getting confused. I have to remove that pulley before I take the lower cover off.

There are two crankshaft sprockets right? one for the balance belt and the other for the timing belt. How do I make sure the crankshaft pulley is timed right? That pulley has been off since the beginning...

LOL you're thinking to hard brotha! yes there is a sprocket. like i said before make sure the crankshaft pulley "notch" is pointing to the "T" on the timing cover. the sprocket should be putting towards the right, you will see a notch in the block where it lines up with. if you read the attached service manual link you'll know what i'm talking about
