Street Legal Rally Car
Street Legal Rally Car
So just reading a bit on rally racing. Obviously the evo is right at 2.0 liters.. but the wrx/sti is at 2.2 or 2.5 liters. Does this mean the evo is the only "street legal rally car" that has been produced for some time? Or am I way off on rally engine rules?
Theoredically you could cage an Evo, lift it with rally coilovers, get Alcon or Greddy brakes, 15" rims and gravel tires and race but that's the minimum and the car probably won't last long or go too fast in comparison to the others.
Gravel tires are 15" only.
Basically what I'm saying is either way the motor is going to need to be built so it doesn't really matter if you were to start with a 2L evo or a 2.5L sti but yes the evo is the "out of the box" ready rally car because of the 2L.

Well the car needs to be 2.0l, turbocharged with no more than 2.5psi bar w/anti-lag, mechanical gear box(no paddle shift) a few exterior modifications but no carbon fiber, only modifications for safety, car needs to be awd obviously, only front and rear diffs. Dont know why the Subari wrx sti in the states its 2.5l and in Japan its 2.0l some say its more powerful.

s it works off a multiplier system, awd, turbo, NA, fwd and rwd, displacement. They all depending what is applicable must be less then a certain total. And my evo is running wilwoods for the fronts to fit my rally's and gravels
I meant to say Rally America, not WRC. RA allows fwd/rwd/awd, I've fallen off WRC in the last couple years so I can't tell you the up to date rules there.
