Paying that much for that evo will never be ok with my book. I am sorry you are being bothered by my statement, everyone deals with their own problems differently. I much rather spend more money and get a brand new evo. Obviously, if you are in need of an evo ix and money is not an issue, go for it. I still think paying that much for that evo is, well.. stupid.

I haven't looked at KBB or Edmunds lately but $28K is out of the question.. that seems way too high.

I would take you up on that offer I was in the market for an Evo. The one the OP listed is overpriced IMO.

I am in dilemma because I can't choose between the evo 9 or the evo x.

I can buy a private owner's evo if it is near 20,000 if not then I will have to finance which I doubt I will get from a bank for a personal loan even if I do the interest will be through the roof. That means I will most likely have to finance a car through a dealer. I am looking for a daily driver that will have around 400awhp which is easier to get to?

The evo 9 looks to be a more fun car because of the rawness and a bit more comfy then the evo x because of the recaro seats. But all the ones I seen have to many miles on it which makes me think there are problems with the suspension (bushings) tranny (clutch or abuse) and engine (abuse). Also most evo 9 that I have seen will need major maintenance (timing belt, water pump ect.) I believe I would get a private owned evo for around 20k but can't find one within the price range without a salvage title.

The evo x gsr (not mr) looks to be the better daily driver but seems to luxury and seems to take a way from the sports cars feeling I can't really feel the power because I pulled both the 9 and x, the x still just feels like I am on a cloud and the 9 just punches me to the seat. All the ones I have seen are in very good condition. Looks like i would get one from a dealer for around 26k and would do a down payment and finance
the rest.

Does anyone know the history of this car? Also throughts about it.

The evo 9 is no where near being comfy as the x and it's a pain to daily everyday. I still love my ix and would prefer it over the x any day.

Another thing to consider is the monthly payments, since, for instance, making a down-payment (say 10k) on a car priced at 26k at the dealer, there are other costs that you need to cater for. Taxes, title, doc fees, dealer fees and the interest. Depending what your interest rate on the loan is, and the length of the loan (say 5 yrs), altogether you will roughly end up paying about 32k for the car with a monthly between the range of $375-$425

Again, these are very, very rough figures, but i hope this helped you somewhat. I think you'd love the ix more than the x

I daily my IX and actually prefer it as a DD to the car it replaced, a 2008 Mazdaspeed3. I did add cruise control to mine as I drive about 25 highway miles each way everyday to work.

Don't buy that evo at crown. One of the salesman drove the **** out of it on a test drive and blew the turbo or motor or both. They did some serious work to it. Not sure who they had do the work either. I wouldn't touch that car for even $15k IMO

This is from a local subaru forum talking about the car

Evo x handles better and is much smoother for a DD. evo 8-9 is much more raw and easily a faster drag/ straight line car. Both are great cars. Just depends on your budget, goals and intentions.

its esy to choose, ask yourself what is the main usage for the evo? track, drag race or just cruising/dd.
drag Race = 9
track = 9 or 10
crusing /dd = 10
The evo x is a lot user friendly if you going to DD. With some nice wheels and a decent suspensions evo x looks very good and very modern.
