Turbo issue please help

Hi can anyone please help, I've been on holiday and not drove my car for 12 days so when I got home I took it a run, all seemed ok didn't thrash it just a plod. So anyway on my way to work I warm her up give the throttle a nice plunge and straight away under hard acceleration I noticed a big change normally my car hits just over 3000rpm and the turbo starts to wind up just under 3.5 it kicks in giving a nice quick smooth burst that maintains till just gone 7, but now it's acting funny I put my foot down and it's starts to wind up at just over 3 kicks in but not much power rev needle jumps to 4 ish then the car jumps to life all guns blazing but it does this everytime the car drops below 3000 if your going along and then you put your foot down you notice it a lot more. The turbo kicks in and acts normal but now it keeps jumping to 4ish and some times jumps 2 4 drops to 3.5 then gives u a massive boost but it's just not right can any one help?

Cheers

I'm not sure it's the clutch because it drove perfect before my holiday and seemed ok after, when the car boosts it starts to pic up then u can hear the turbo kinda release then straight after pick up again and the car takes off. Turbo seems to be running and kicking in when it should but the power seems down until the turbo kicks in the second time, could it be leak or a boost issue if so where would I even start?

Cheers

If you think its a boost issue do a boost leak test

I would think its a clutch as well, if your rpms jump to 4k then more than likely it is.

It wouldnt be a boost leak then your idle would be off. But you can test your clutch by putting it in a higher gear and accelerate a little bit, if it takes forever to get to speed then its not the clutch, if it jumps really as if your sort of reving it then you need a new clutch.

Yea, the sudden rpm jump is a slipping clutch. When the clutch slips and lessens the load on the engine.. boost will drop. When the clutch suddenly grabs and the engine goes under load again.. boost will go back up..

drive in 3rd gear at ~30mph and floor it and see if the rpm's jump significantly indicating a worn clutch

maybe it's just beginning to wear. over time if you notice it going to 4500 or 5000 rpm then you can surely pinpoint to the clutch. For now, Im sure others will chime in on what else to check or what else it could be

Thanks everyone its definitely the clutch, did the high gear at low speed test and it shot to 7k without hardly moving the car and now I can smell burning :-(. So can anybody help me with some information on a good clutch at a decent price, I won't be putting it on a track just decent road use really so want something stronger than the standard one that's fitted any info would be greatly appreciated

Sorry forgot to mention that it's an fq-320 but it's running around 410 bhp hence the broken stock clutch, this wasn't my set up just brought it that way. The car isn't thrashed but will be having the odd hard acceleration as all evos get won't be tracking it just looked at the 2 suggestions and they looked a decent price but not sure what I really need hurd about twin plates and even triple plates is all that needed?
