yea more like motorswaped after the stock motor died or someone was just trying to have a real deal sleeper... i don't recall hyundai in the past ever of having any type of quality anything years back. they were notorious for making ugly cars that broke down, and you wouldn't want to be caught dead in one
The Evolution IX has more in common with a 1988 Hyundai Sonata then an Evolution X has with a Hyundai Genesis.
This is not true, the Genesis turbo motor and the Evolution X motor were developed completely independently. Even the basic non-turbochaged 4B11, Hyundai Theta engine, and Chrysler GEMA engine all have differences with very few exchangeable parts between them and different engineering goals behind them.
No that's not what I meant. The 4G63 came as a factory stock engine in Hyundai Sonatas and Elantras for a very long time. Hyundai and Mitsubishi have been partners for a very very long time, since before the first Evo was even on the market.

as for the the 4g63 being in older hyundai cars, now that i just did a tad of research these were not the turbo charged versions of the ones that come in evos.. these were single cam non turbo variations of the 4g motor as well as dual cam non turbo motors. i still see nothing more in common with them. obiviously you were once a hyundai owner lol

Evo 8 or 9 + girlfriend = complaints about the "unrefined" suspension
edit: also - even though the Evo 8/9 has more of a raw (stiff) feel to it, the Evo X actually does handle better. according to motortrend, the Evo 9 MR can pull .95 G through a turn, while the Evo 10 can pull .99 G through a turn. plus the Evo X has more low end torque, so it's also more powerful in the low RPM range.

regardless of what "knowledge" you have.... hyundai back when they used 4g63 motors in 3 of their models were still straight crap.... why do you think you rarely see any of the older models still driven around????

Women.. Lol
But somewhat related to the topic, if I had to get something new, an Evo X SE crossed my mind since she could drive it (because she can't drive stick, even though I would be hesitant to put her behind the wheel of an Evo, but at least I won't have to be the default designed driver). Plus it has heated seats, which she needs since I like the A/C to be on, but she seems to get cold really easily.
