Question Boost drop. Please help

Experts,

Despite of having all of the below mods (pls see my signature) boost is not built until 4000 RPM. Moreover, it reaches 28 psi @ 5000 RPM then dramatically drops to 22 psi @ 7800 RPM maximum reached 369 awhp (ecu reflash)

Then I have installed the MoTeC M8 and started tuning again, power curve at low boost was better than reflashed ecu but it never reached 28 PSI again like reflashed stock ecu and power is same again 369 awhp @ 22 PSI but better responce at mid rev

Pressure tests done to pistons, intake and even exhaust system and no leaks, BV is tight !!
Its supposed to put down at least 400+ Awhp

Please help guyz i respect your experience, what is causing this drop and slow boost building and limiting hp gains ?!!

It looks like you have a good set up. The M7960 does not like restrictions, I would get a bigger LICP like ETS or BR. I never cared for aftermarket EBCs, they usually are more trouble than they are worth. I would go with a MBC like Hallman. That should take care of your boost problem. As far as your numbers, it's probably a combo of parts and tuning. There is a guy that is self tuned on an M7960 that's pushing 470/437 on E85, And 412/377 on 91. You may want to pm him and see if he can help you out a bit more. The link below, is for his build with the ARMS setup.

Thanks for your time sir

I have replaced LICP AND UICP to bigger ones with less pends and relocated battery as well (for testing only), noticed approx 4 awhp then got the Injen ICPs back. Does not worth it.

Am tuning on 98, the tuner assumed i have a bent crank shaft or dameged main bearings!! Although he is not sure. Is it possible ??

I need some one tuned on both ( kelfords 272 and Tomei 7960 ) combo

chek for exhaust leaks pre turbo. even the smallest leak will cause slow spool and lower boost levels.

The injen LICP is small, and has the step in it. It's not really what I consider a bigger LICP. I would get a BR, or ETS. I would go with a manual boost controller also, the aftermarket EBC's are known to be problematic. Your tune is probably the other half of your problems. You might want to think about doing a remote tune, like Tscomptuned.net a lot of people that don't have access to dynos have had good results. Are your injectors scaled?

The tuner is the best one specialised in EVOs around, preparing some good rally evos/subaros and i have seen EVOs havig less mods making higher hp numbers with him. and this is disapointing me 

Header checked for leaks and gaskits replaced as well although they are new.

EBC replaced by MBC on dyno, same result (no hp gains/boost drops)

I started to suspect cam defects/malfunction i dont know if you agree on this or maybe cam installing issues? Wondering if this is possible.

FYI, Turbo replaced with HKS GT2 (for testing) and tomei puts more power.

Uhhhh, who will solve the puzzle ...

The defference (assumed is about 40 to 50 Awhp thats why i am thinking of further / complicated issues.

True custom made oversized LICP made 5 awhp. But this is much below my target HP/boost

Any similer experience ?

Mishimoto intercooler is better than factory OEM cooler (size, cmf, cooling) as agreed by most thats why i dont think it is causig restriction.

Have you taken off couplers and checked for hairline cracks?

Exhaust Leaks great idea to check for along with if its clogged (exhaust). Boost leak test along with couplers properly inspected and vacuum lines may do you sum good.

Exhaust leak post-turbo will not make a difference but I would check the exhaust manifold for loose nuts. It would also be possible for the cat to be breaking apart and/or clogging up.

Boost leak test is important like others have stated.

The tuner is "not sure", and he assumes a bent crank or damaged mains. This guy is all over the place. But, at least he admits he is not sure.
