Just an fyi. For a part this small, there is a 2k. (catalyzed) automotive clear in a rattle can you can buy for $15. Ready for sanding/buffing in 8-15 hours depending on the temperature. I just sanded and re-cleared my trunk with it (as my paint equipment is back in FL) and it came out fantastic!!
Its probably enough in that can to do 2-3 of your sunroofs with 3-4 coats of clear. Its called spray max 2k high gloss clear.
Make sure you catalyze it (with the button on the bottom... It takes alot of force) and that you use the whole can within a day, cause once its catalyzed, it's got a short shelf life

Hey thats a really good tip thanks cuz my stupid can started running out of pressure so I stopped and now it's slightly undercoated, it actually still looks decent right now though, I have a friend with a paint gun and compressor but he is always busy so I just tried anyways.
This is after wet sanding it, it's actually all scratched up but just wet.
That guy said he wanted to see it in the sun.
Great work! The Carbon weave looks good and with a great finish to it as well. Did you clear coat it afterwards or is that just the resin's finish? My car could sure using something like this once it goes on a diet
Have you ever made something form carbon before or worked with it? I personally have done a little bit with it, but not much more than making flat sheets for panels
Thanks,
Dallin

I have never made carbon fiber parts before, this is my very first creation. Nobody makes these but I know what I want and sometimes I go through great lengths to get things I want.
Hey I noticed your name is rallysport direct, I actually ordered my oem style throw out bearing from you guys and it's workin pretty good with my fidanza clutch, great price, I did the install too.
Thanks alot for the compliments, I'm still not done, there's still a bit more work to be done which I have plans for.
