It's on of the mounting points on the power steering pump. Depending on how deep the crack is you definitely should get it fixed. If that bracket fails and causes the power steering pump to shift, you may lose your accessory belt.

Pretty much all the way through. Ack...there's soo much going wrong with my car right now and no matter what I do it doesn't let up...fml.
I may just make a bundled thread with all my problems so this can be closed for now if need be.

That's a new one to me. Was your car in an accident?

Nothing that would cause that kind of damage, just needed a new bumper/hood, and that was last year. I didn't notice this til now.

So your saying your car was in an accident?
How do you know the accident didn't cause the crack?
Nobody has seen this before. This is unique to your car.

Yeah, this is the bracket that attaches the power steering pump to the side of the engine. As I remember, there are four bolts that mount the bracket to the engine. With this ear broken you have three remaining,

Pulling the pump is a bit of a pain but pulling the pump is part of a timing belt change so plenty of people have done it. You need a new bracket.

I'm going to try and get it covered by insurance from the accident claim. Hoping it will work as I don't want to pay for all the labor.
