i bought a brand new X and loved it but i originally had a 06 lancer DE, then an 06 lancer ralliart and went to the 2012 EVO... too big, too heavy, too i don't know but it wasn't my style... went back and bought an 06 IX... 2006 LANCERS FTW... ... RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY with MY DECISION...

Don't do it. Just keep your IX. If you think the exterior is bordering rice, then maybe you can consider raising the car (as I assume you have coilovers) and/or putting the stock wheels back on. You already went wingless, which does a lot on its own. But going with a X doesn't necessarily solve the problem. It might appear that way, since the bodystyle is more recent, but it might be the same thing all over again in a few years. You'll have to go with ze Germans if you don't want to be ricey.

i think you would be making a HUGE mistake if you were to sell your 9 and jump into that thing. if your looking for fun here and there whether it would be tracking the car, or doing anything of that nature, you better just keep it. don't think for minute that buying a X your feelings of rice and cheap interior will go away....

Point blank you might as well look into another car all together if your mindset is telling you " It's time for a change "

good luck in which ever decision you make. just make sure its not the wrong one.

If you plan on tracking it, keep the IX. If you are using it as a DD and don't like the tin can racer feel, ditch the IX and buy a BMW.

Everyone is running on the Hedonic treadmill. Any increase in happiness derived from buying a new car, new wheels, or gaining some power will eventually become the norm and you will want more, or something new. This drives consumerism.

From what you're describing you should get a different car, like an Audi S4.

You will definitely end up regretting selling your ix. There is nothing unique about the x. The ix is an icon if you ask me.

Just start to track it. All interest will come back and the money you save can be used to track it more, and if you have an issue (something breaks or accident) you're damaging a less expense vehicle so it won't hurt as bad.

Go test drive a stock X and one modded then ponder the differences between them and your IX. See how they feel and if they're refined enough for you.

They're two very different cars, so it's almost like comparing apples to pears.

Either stick with your IX or go with something else entirely. S4, 335, CTSV ect. The IX should be driven by people who care more about driving it than how it looks or what it makes people think of them.

I say you keep your IX, I'm still on the hunt for a nice IX black MR...even though I found a ton of X's I could easily purchase.

I've driven this car for 4 years everyday, I didn't say I don't like how it performs! Driving a small compact car, with a good amount of mods that is outdated looking starts to wear on you I don't care How much of an icon it is. I am just asking others if the x might be a better option. I have test driven a x in stock form but not a modded one. I did like the x and am curious to drive a modded one. Any volunteers??? I will test drive it again to make sure I really enjoy it. In a perfect world if I had the finances I would use it as a second car or track *****. A s4,cts-v, or 335 are not for me, I am just curious if the x is a worthy change for me.

There are a lot of X's in NY. I'm in NJ. My X has 500+whp on a FP Black, but I'm too far.

The X falls flat on its face stock in higher gears. You have to at least drive a tuned X.
