shifter bushings Need some input

Ok so I've never had to actually replace them because I don't slam gears or rag them out but the car I have is kind of sloppy as far as shifting.

I noticed they have shifter base bushings and shifter cable bushings.... Which one's would I need to make the shifter feel stiffer again? It pops back in the middle nice and tough but side-side/ up-down is really loose feeling would this be the cable bushing?

Cable bushings. Torque soulutions and buschur racing are two I've been looking at. Both are about $30 good luck.

You might pop your hood and wiggle the cable ends at the tranny to double check and make sure that's where the play is.

The bushings help the over all feel, but the side to side is a spring on the side of the shifter base. I replaced cable and base with all Works bushings and their short shifter and shifting feels much better.

I just ordered Trq Solutions Base/shifter bushings for 48$ shipped. I'll look at the spring when I pull the interior out to do the base bushings. Maybe its a easy fix...

All metal bushings felt tons better than the poly ones. Anything will be better than fatigued oem rubber though for sure.

Agreed, torque solutions shifter base/under bonnet bushings, massive difference in gear engagement for me. shifting feels solid.

I might look into putting in a short shifter in the near future too.

If you plan on picking up either bushing set, you may as well get both.

I had underhood metal ones installed, Agency Power. My OEM ones were rusted on and had to be mangled to get off. After the new ones were installed I HATED THEM!! at first. It was really hard to find gears and reverse was goofy. I since have put a few drops of 3in1 oil in the center of the bushings and about 1500 miles and they are worn in a bit and feel much better.

You know something, I wonder if all the folks who replace the bushings, think they are getting an improvement, because the stock ones need a little lube to get things going, and when you put in the new one, it loosens things up a a bit. All you need is a little lube...

I replaced the stock cable bushings with Ebay metal bushings. Shifts much tighter. Maybe new rubber would done the same.

Tranny seems a bit slower to warm up, however.
