Swift Plate?
Swift Plate?
Anyone here use swift plates on their evo? I need to put my front license plate on but don't wanna drill the holes to the bumper so was thinking about swift plate. Any opinions?
You mean the hide away plates? You still gotta drill holes, they'll just be in the bottom of the lip. I used to have one when I had a cobalt, it was great, until the thing scraped on the ground all the time because it hangs an extra inch or so lower than the front bumper. Then the slide rails get all bent up, and it won't fold under anymore. And when it scrapes enough times, those screws will rip a hole all the way through the lip. Great idea if you had somewhere other than under the front lip to mount it.

this is what I would recommend if you don't want to drill holes

ive got mine set up pretty good, i know it sucks here, with the front licsense plate law :/ Damn chicago tickets and the mayor who needs $$ and puts nothing back into the city.....
I used the one that you drill two hole in the upper lip of the bumper you cant even see the drill holes and it looks clean. I think the bracket was only 14 bucks at the speed shop.

I believe the Ticket is $50, yes the speed shop on Archer. you just have to remove the bumper to install it, and drill the holes.
here are a couple of pics of it,
