A quirky note: unlike my M3, it is harder to determine for sure if the wheels bearings are getting a little old, but changing both fronts brought my steering and alignment back to that Porsche Boxster feel that an Evo should have. Now I can canyon carve again without that Jeep Wrangler steering feel. On a positive note, bolt in bearings are super easy to change. Only a bit harder than changing a tire, and the Mitsubishi bearings aren't any more expensive than any ordinary commuter car.

But honestly, 58k seems a bit weak for bearings. Again, I'll chalk it up to prior owner shenanigans.
60k is actually good for wheel bearings on an AWD car haha

60k? Well, they're not expensive, but still another reason why I'm kicking myself for jumping out of the M3 camp.

On an unrelated note, I picked up my 16 year old at his high school yesterday and some kid declared my Evo the coolest looking Civic he'd ever seen.

Hahaha that happened to me once at an autozone. Some guy in the parking lot asked if my evo was an accord lol.

That's equivalent to not knowing the pledge of allegiance. I'm shocked, but not surprised. I got a smile on one of the last times I got an oil change (at a dealership) and the tech comes out and says your evo is ready. LMFAO. I just smiled and wanted to ask if I got the complimentary turbo with my oil change. You know check battery, top off fluids and install a turbo . BTW OP congrats you are an inspiration to me.

Agreed. In assisting disaster relief efforts, I recommend 4G63T/4B11T or RB26DETT full drivetrain conversion for the RX-7 FD, and LS1 for those still recovering from the disaster.

Lightsaber, nice engine bay pic, but what's up with that anti-rotary logo?! My neighbor runs a rotary tuner shop. After one ride in a 1,000hp triple rotor I was pretty sure my Evo was hopeless.

Still, I've got 5 seatbelts and AWD. I think ALL of these cars are full-fledged Financial Disasters!

Like the subject of the OP, the challenge is to see how long all these tubs can last.

The same kid who thought my Evo was a Civic also asked if I had installed a turbo. I should have told him the dealer was giving out free ones with an oil change!

Forget trying to discuss the 300k club with a kid like that.
