Boost gauge people, how much vac do you see at idle?

I installed my boost gauge yesterday and my boost readings seem to be fine. Spikes/holds 18 psi in the midrange and slowly falls to 16 psi by 7k rpms or so.

However, I only see about 14 in if Hg at idle where I'm used to seeing 20 or so in other cars consistently. Is this correct or do I have a vac leak somewhere? On decel, I can get it as slow as ~19-20 in/Hg.

Mine idels around 17 in/hg, which I think is pretty typical for EVO's.

Where did you tap the boost line at?

Normally .20 but somtimes depending on the weather it will idle at .15-.17 . I think you are fine just get a boost controller and crank up the powaaaa But ya you are ok I doubt there is a leak.

I have the Stewart Warner Boost gauge. Do you have the same thing?

My vac signal is the soft vac line on top of the valve cover that feeds the diverter valve.

Newb question for you guys:

What does 19-20 in/Hg mean? And what levels should you expect to see idling, accelerating, shifting, then say standard highway driving? What would the gauge do if you were experiencing leakage?

-Thanks

Idle: 17-18 Hg
Decel: 20-21 Hg

dividedsky: When driving I am hardly ever in positive boost unless I am excelerating.....on the highway mostly around 5Hg to 2psi depending on landscape. If there was a leak in your boost lines, trust me, you would know it
